The Hidden Job Market Isn't Really Hidden

Many opportunities are filled before a job ad is ever posted because hiring managers already know who they want to speak to, or someone in their network makes an introduction.

If you want access to more of those conversations, start with a list of 50 companies you'd genuinely love to work for.

Then follow them. Connect with the people who work there. Follow the hiring managers and leaders. Engage with their content. Get into the conversations they're already having.

And don't just focus on posting on LinkedIn.

Posting helps visibility. Commenting builds relationships.

Some of the strongest professional connections I've seen started in the comments section long before a job opportunity existed - people showing up consistently, sharing something useful, being recognisable in the right conversations.

Most opportunities don't come from asking for a job. They come from being known before one exists.

What strategies have worked for you when accessing opportunities beyond job boards?
